Yes, it's obviously partly just character - she withdraws into herself - becomes more and more invisible on the court - it's tricky, isn't it? We say Jodie, for instance, gets too emotional and has a meltdown, can't see clearly, and sprays it; Hev gets too nervous and tight and pushes the ball; and Sonay has her own demons - she just puts up the shutters and resorts to sort of 'training everyday' tennis.
and I guess maybe I shouldn't knock them for being supportive but mixed feelings about the LTA's tweet:
"Sonay Kartal comes up short in Paris
Sonay loses out in a three-set @rolandgarros qualifying battle as Slovakian No.19 seed Viktoria Hruncakova takes it 2-6, 7-5, 6-4
A brilliant effort from Sonay in her first ever French Open qualifying match

I think I can blame my self for Sonay's result as I started watching at 5-2 in the second set!!! Thought she did well to pull herself together in the third to at least make it competitive.

Perhaps the LTA tweeter hadn't been following the match, and just was going by the final match score, and the relative experience level of the two players.
The Beeb have at least filled out a litle of the match detail ( https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/tennis/65674355 ) having had a day to do the research!

Perhaps, yes...
But whereas I'd forgive the BBC reporter for doing that, what is an official LTA tweeter supposed to do apart from follow the tennis matches????
