So no Brits left in either men's or women's qualies, if I'm not mistaken.  cry

Mikael Ymer getting disqualified, when playing Arthur Fils, for having absolutley whacked his racket against the umpire's chair, is really not the Swedish guy's finest moment.... :::(((

(Sorry -I put this in the wrong thread but not much else going on in this thread now so not much point moving it)

wow, that is a melt down - was there a bad call earlier than this clip

The heavies in the background are interesting, almost suggests they expected some bad feeling here - wouldnt mess with that guy with the sunglasses!!

Ok, so when people talk here about the mental weakness of GB players, just have a look at what Rodinov has just done.

He won the first set against Pouille

Far tighter second set. Rodionov nearly broke at 5-5

But Pouille hung on. LOTS of crowd noise.

So 6-5 and Rodionov serving to go into a tiebreak

He loses the first point

And then does THREE double faults

Really bad ones too. Second serves just flying off the racket. The crowd are howling with laughter.

THAT is a mental meltdown

And then the Austrian barely won another point

6-0

Rodionov was made to look completely ridiculous

Even the crowd got a bit kinder towards the end

In fact, he couldn't wait to get off the court

The first match point - Rod's ball was called out (it didn't feel out) and Rod is walking to the net, but Pouille rubs out the mark and says it was in (which it surely was). Poor Rod was not very happy - the torment continued a couple more points. And then he practically ran off the court

Great for Lucas. Tons of tears. The injury, the depression, the acohol problems..... all so much

But for mental toughness, don't let anyone say GB has a particular problem when you've just seen Rodionov completely self-implode in spectacular fashion, one of the worst ever

Again, it makes no real difference but just to note that both Offner and Nava (the two guys who just beat Jan and Liam) both won their matches today and are into the MD
