I was thinking though that the pattern of voting the past few months has been that the second day becomes largely redundant ; its all done within 24-36 hours. Ill keep this vote today going through as planned til Tuesday 6pm but for future votes will probably make it 36 hours and close it on the Tuesday morning.

But for this month , Ill keep as planned through to 6 pm Tuesday 2nd May.

Stuck on 35 votes for most of today now! Hopefully a few more to come later today. Ill give a vote round up when Im home later

This vote is pretty much exactly the same cadence as last month. At the end of first 24 hours last time we had 37 votes, weve 35 this time. We ended with 5 more votes over the second 24 hours, so dont expect too much excitement folks!

As mentioned , I will reduce it to a day and a half next month and see if that at least shortens the prolonged end game!

We need more members - these votes are stuck around 40 to 45 each month and wed love to press on from that and , more importantly, the more members the richer the forum content becomes !

For those of you who are new or havent followed the detail.

The player of the month vote happens at the end of each month January to November . In December , we have held a player of the season vote to crown this forums British player of the year.

Its been running since January 2020, good timing eh!? But we persevered through Covid and out the other side and the votes have grown from in the 20s each month to in the 40s. Given we have 700 plus visitors every 24 hours, it feels like we could do a bit better , but we are at least progressing !

The top two players each month from the player of the month polls qualify for the player of the season vote. Those players are added to by the top British player at season end from mens and womens singles and doubles, juniors, wheelchair as well. And one or two other categories leading to a field to contest player of the season.

Our 3 players of the season to date have been

2020 - Joe Salisbury
2021 - Emma Raducanu
2022 - Jack Draper

Cam Norrie with 4 titles is the player with most POM titles, although that could be equalled this month if Fran Jones or Hannah Klugman win .
