She's not playing any ITFs. She's committed to Paris 125k

Harriet and Katie S were 8th and 14th main draw alts for the Italy 125k, so may be in qualifying there.

I don't understand why Jodie has left herself on an ITF when she's in a WTA125. I'm not aware of any scenario where she can withdraw from a WTA125 to play an ITF.

Fran has pulled out of Austria. Hope that she will be able to play in the French Open Qualifying.

The Japan event next week - it says grass above and in the itf site also but is it real grass or artificial grass, plastic, sand based stuff? Anyone know? I presume the latter?

I see PaulM in this thread from 2015 Kurume event says it is astroturf which is what I think it actually is , artificial grass, as opposed to natural grass

https://britishtennis.activeboard.com/t60172453/week-19-itf-50k-kurume-jpn-grass/?page=3&sort=oldestFirst

from my experience of playing artificial grass a lot it tends to bounce low but also can be quite slow and a lot less slick than real grass - as PaulM said 9 years ago, it depends on the sand they layer onto the courts.

I see Katie lost the Kurume final in 2017 to Laura

It's the same surface as this week, so not sure why they've listed this week as carpet and next week as grass.
You can see the Kurume courts in the title image on the tournament website

Yeah, Id managed to get to that page! they previously had a couple of grass events in Pakistan and they were real grass but Ireland also had what the itf called grass, but actually turned out to be carpet

The irish events were in July in the past at limerick, shelbourne And Dublin variously - obviously back in the past they had been real grass but the artificial carpet grass courts took over from the 80s or 90s, I think
