This is the third of the Tennis Europe Super Category events this year, with Mark Ceban top seeded. Some of the top ranked boys are missing, but his nearest rival currently for the number 1 ranking Savva Rybkin (who beat him in the previous Super Category event in Sweden is here) Live streaming is available from the host website Although there are only 4 British direct entries no fewer than 6 boys and 3 girls have made it to final qulifying
The Tennis Europe event page rather incongruously declares that "1 GIRL QUALI/LUCKY LOSER WILL BE TOSSED TO PLAY AGAINST HEINS (LUX) NB13:00"
great to see - how many of these Super Category events are there for the Under 14's - are they effectively, with the Orange Bowl, the grand slams of this age bracket?
Actually - did I read one of the slams (Wimbledon?) was introducing an Under 14 event this year - or did I just make that up??

There were 5 Super Category events when originally introduced, with Les Petits As the highest profile. However one of the 5 was in Russia, and I don't know if there will be a replacement. Les Petits As has an international field comparable to the Orange Bowl but the other Super Category events are highly European
Two expeditive wins from Hollie Smart and 2010-born Sevil Parvez.
Watched 10 mins of each and very in control, nice tennis
Aminu Oluwajomiloju (who goes by Jomi, I believe) also showed some nice tennis - a bit raw but lots of power and some skills too. He lost 6-2 6-4 but there one to keep an eye on.....
Matt Mclain and Eva H lost pretty easily, although Eva hung in well in the second set (when she wasn't looking all huffy coz she'd missed a ball)
Sevil lost, which was to be expected of course. But she's a year younger, she was playing the top seed. So all credit to her - she put up a good fight, played some nice tennis. She's improved from last year, and is definitely going in the right direction.
Not a great shock that Mark should find a Spaniard too tough on clay, but the scoreline is disappointing. Hollie though progresses to the quarters. It is her turn to face a Spaniard, who took out the third seed today
