Real shame. But that PC indicated serious issues. An ongoing encouraging thing for me with Emma over the last year or so was, whatever her real problems ( or perceived Emm-dram problems ) her own attitude, both shown publicly and spoken of by others

Poor Emma withdraws. Shame but most likely for the best
Yes a real shame and actually quite concerning medium term. Sounds like the wrist injury is still not responding to being managed if this is indeed the reason.
Trouble is wrist injuries tend not to just clear up if they are chronic as this one sounds like it may be. Surgery may be required which would effectively rule her out of most of this season. Wrist surgery would be at least 12 weeks and probably more like 4 to 6 months to heal up properly. Obviously we don't know the exact issue but I can't see how a pro tennis player can effectively manage a wrist injury. In Emma's case it isn't overplaying that is the issue here as she's hardly played since winning the US Open.
I do think yesterday's press conference was a mistake though. Not sure what if any advice Emma was given but really honesty and openness would have been a better option than sounding like a sulky teenager. If the wrist was/is the issue then far better to come out and say actually it is a big problem, I and my team are really trying but it is very difficult and stressful etc etc. Sure she would have got some sympathy.
Ona separate question when was the last time we had no GB woman in the top 100?

PC?
Her press conference linked to earlier and just referred to in HarryGem's Post.

Probably May 2008 before Anne Keothavong won a W50+H in Jounieh, Lebanon while a civil war was raging round her. She became the first British woman in the top 100 for about 15 years. After winning she had to make a mad dash over the border to escape the troubles. Since Anne broke through into the top 100 we have had Elena Baltacha, Katie O'Brien, Mel South, Laura Robson, Heather Watson, Jo Konta, Katie Boulter, Harriet Dart and Emma Raducanu (is there anyone I have missed out?). I can't remember any gaps in the run of top 100 players since Anne's break through.

Sam Smith was top 100 in 1999 and possibly later, so it was considerably less than 15 years
Really disappointed with this, makes her PC yesterday just look like a petulant brat. The WTA has some strong and consistent players for the first time in years, but the WTA is still struggling - and this attitude definitely makes me feel a little bit more negative about the future. At Indian Wells things looked like they could become promising, now I'm really not sure she'll ever have a career on tour.

Ah yes I remember Annes adventure. Naomi Broady I think also had a brief spell in the top 100?
