What a SUPER gritty win from Dani

6-4 2-6 6-4

Over a top-600 player

Her 6 points for Q plus winning this R1 match will take her into the top 1000 for the first time. Indeed pretty close to the top 900.

live-tennis have her as 912 with 19 points

The outstanding 1st round dubs match was actually played today albeit with no live scoring. The result was a 5 and 2 win for the second seeds.

Thanks, telstar. When I did my last post it wasn't on the scoreboard or the draw, but was showing for tomorrow's order of play. I have edited my post now.

All quarter finals on the order of play for tomorrow (Thursday)

She's always gone by Marni - it's far easier

Yeah, I suppose she got bored of misspelling her own name too many times

Emily App got hammered in the first set by the French-Dutch player.

And very tight in the second - until Emily just ran away with the end bit

Now 2-2

Marni served for the match at 5-4 in the second but got broken... :(

Beth is a very close match too

Yeah - didn't watch those - I'm taking early lunch, watching Emily App, Marni and Hollie Smart

Dani and Beth had to get along without..... (and didn't really cry)

Well done, Marni - deserved it - but tricky to close out - a good match from both
