Week 17 - ITF W25 - Nottingham, GB Hard

Excellent win for Emily - didn't see that coming. It would be nice if she could put a run in singles together this week

Meanwhile Lauryn is fighting back in the battle of the Brits

Alice was actually enterd for six tournaments, and was automatically withdrawn from five of them. She was a LWQ from Osijek. I can't find the acceptance lists at the moment but will have a look later as this is an odd one and intrigues me !

I suspect that after the intial round of automatic withdrawals from players in main draw and qualifying lists that Alice had made qualifying in Osijek but possibly not in Nottingham (or at a lower position), so was then withdrawn from Nottingham. It does rather depend on the order that the computer processes the entries. My usual source for old acceptance lists isn't giving me the information right now.

11 aces for Emily - a good sign. Her Loughborough title was built around her serve, but she doesn't seem to replicate that level week in week out, so it'd be good if this signals a change of direction.

Good win for Beth in her first match for two months. Eight games in a row from 1-5* did the trick.

All the GB girls in the bottom half.

Half a chance one of them can make the final

Danielle is in the top half with Brits in all 4 of the bottom half R2 matches.

Her 6 points for Q plus winning this R1 match will take her into the top 1000 for the first time. Indeed pretty close to the top 900.

That's great news. I've always had a soft spot for Dani. She's a grafter. Works hard. And she's making her own pathway, no matter what goals others may have.
