Just adding this for the record. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/tennis/articles/cjr52ql7n21o
Will be interesting to see how Mika gets on in the seniors. I maybe wrong, but feel she has a bit more growing to do compared to Hannah.

This BBC article tells us that Mika is being coached by Jeremy Bates.

Yes - it started, as far as I know, just before the US Open juniors

Some not very apprciative comments about the news were posted in the junior section .....

I wonder if / how much any LTA bods ever find their way to the forum and read some of the appreciation of Mr Bates.

Didn't Matt James post something a while back? I'm sure he isn't the only one aware of our existence and opinions.

It started at the beginning or maybe before the grass court season.

On the web they say Katie O Brien but not sure if that is right.

She was coached by National Tennis Academy coaches under the direction of Girls Head Coach David Brewer. Katie O'Brien was coaching her at the US Open as the LTA's representative coach at the tournament.

She was still at Loughborough, I believe, until after Wimbledon

 The LTA site says:

"In New York she is being supported by LTA Women's National Coach Katie O'Brien and Loughborough University's Adam Greenslade."

Mika has been having an amazing run in the past few weeks

She won the W35 title in Birmingham and was runner-up in the W35 in Tunisia

And then was runner-up in the W100 Wrexham

And Mika is SO close to being top 16 year-old in the world - but misses out by ONE place

Julieta - 351
Mika - 352

Well done Mika. Has had an amazing run after a slowish start to 2025. I think she is on 15 tournaments so Glasgow may be her last one before 2026. Or do Slams not count? Anyway really has the focus and drive now.
