What is likely to happen wild card wise with Mika at Wimbledon - given a non Brit Wimbledon junior champ gets a main draw wild card is a Brit junior slam champ likely to get one regardless of ranking or is she likely to need to prove something a little in the adult game before then? ....also would her getting one have a possible knock on effect that others like Mimi, Hannah, Isabelle etc would be more likely to get something if they're higher ranked than her at that point too?

Henry Searle got a wildcard after winning the junior boys at Wimbledon - so that is probably the best menchmark?

My point is that I think all junior Wimbledon champs get one regardless of nationality but that's obvs just for Wimbledon...other benchmarks would be all the previous Brit US open champs but they were all 17 and probably thus also had much better adult rankings and results to help justify a wildcard (whichbinthink they all got)

This isn't true. I think non-British junior winners usually only get a qualifying wildcard, not a main draw one.

2023 girls champion - Clervie Ngoune - qualifying

2022 - Liv Hovde - qualifying

2021 - Ane Mintegi del Olmo - nothing, I think she was injured

The previous years before they either got into the main draw or qualifying by right (Snigur, Swiatek), and in 2020 it was obviously cancelled.

The only exception I can think of off the top of my head is Urszula Radwanska, and the obviously Laura Robson the year after she won - but as a Brit less surprising. I think Mika with a handful of good adult tournaments before next year's Wimbledon, will likely get a MDWC.

Heather Watson got a Wimbledon MDWC after winning the US Open Girls title the previous year so it would seem likely although Heather had turned 18 by then and was done with junior tennis.

Mika won her opening match today in the World Junior Tour Finals in China, beating WR 4 Tyra Grant, 6-4 6-4.

Continues to impress.

Mika went on to loose a final set tb in the semis to Emerson Jones having served for the match

She then played in the first round at the wta 500 pan Pacific open in Japan against the Japanese player ranked 57 in the world. Quite a match highlights here

She again lost in a final set tiebreak after serving for the match.

Super impressed with Mika in the against Uchijima. Did not look out of place in any aspect. Everything that needs a little work on is more than surmountable. Very exciting indeed.

Mika nominated for Sunday Times Young Sportswoman of the Year. You can vote for her below (might be UK residents only).

Emma wins the US Open and becomes Sports Personality of the Year, Mika wins the Junior version but doesn't even make the Young SPOTY longlist.

Given Henry Searle was similarly snubbed after winning the Wimbledon boys title last year you have to wonder if the Beeb have a problem with Junior tennis, too posh for them?

Not sure but either way, Luke Littler will win this

Yes, trying to take our natural tennis bias out of it, the case for Mika does seem really strong.

As a bit of an aside, I am a bit shocked that Luke Littler is showing as very clear 2nd favourite at 9/2 for the main award ( voted for by the public which I don't think Young SPOTY is ). Keely Hodgkinson is 1/5 favourite, Mark Cavendish 3rd at 22/1.

Im surprised Keely is such a strong favourite if it is voted for by the public! She is a great athlete but not sure her profile is that amazing? Littler's profile is high, so not surprised at all to see him up there. But usually, in an Olympic year, a gold medallist wins it - are there any others in the mix from the betting odds?
