Just in case people aren't aware, Katy's ranking is WR675, but she is on the acceptance list as 321 which must be her SR

I think I'd prefer Katy to win, she needs the points more at this stage in her career.

I tend to agree. Hannah is on 9pts, so even if she loses she will get a ranking when she uses her wildcard

Yes, me too. Hannah will get a ranking just by breathing air.

If she's playing Aldershot next week, lose tomorrow and have a rest, and let Katy have her return moment

Of course, it's good we don't get to choose.......

I dont mind about the points, but I would rather Hannah showed herself to be better than Katy - more exciting for the future.

I'm watching Naiktha's match which has been stopped.

Men have come to' inspect ' and the players are sitting down waiting.

The LTA are very quick to move indoors these days. Surely they could have waited a couple of hours and still completed today's play. The forecast doesn't look that bad this afternoon.

I have a lot of sympathy for them when they're running men's and women's events - lots of matches to get done, singles and doubles

It's not really in the players interests either to sit around, not knowing if they're going to get going. Makes it more likely they'll have to play two matches on one day. Tricky for people like Naiktha who are in both singles and dubs. Honestly, if the forecast is mixed, I'd chose to get going immediately indoors too.

Hannah and Katy next indoors. From comments I have read (can't remember where) indoors less likely to favour Hannah who seems to cope so well outdoors. I know everyone want's to see Katy get a win which is understandable but I am very excited by Hannah's play and would love to see her progress in this tournament.

the Hannah indoors comments, I think, are purely based on the fact that she was winning pretty easily outdoors in the U18 nationals last week. And then it got moved inside due to weather. And she lost.

But (a) there are two sides - i.e. it could be more that Isabelle Lacy is far better inside than out, rather than Hannah is far worse inside than out, and (b) it's just a one-off - Hannah has definitely won good junior events inside.

I've been the biggest fan of Hannah since she was 11. But I'd still be perfectly happy if she lost today. And it wouldn't take anything away from her promise. After all, otherwise we're just saying we want her to win every match she ever plays - which isn't very helpful

Yes, you are right, those are the comments I saw. Thanks for the clarification.

And, yes take your point on all the rest.

Well, whatever any of us want, Hannah is quickly 3-0 up

I like the camera angle - you really get a feel for the pace of the balls and the placement

With others suggesting Hannah vs Katy was a 50/50 shot and myself probably very slightly edging to Hannah it was time for a wee wager on her at 6/4 against.

And Hannah takes the first set 6-3.

Though I honestly wouldn't mind at all Katy coming back to win.

Not sure why so many are rooting for a 28 year old journey woman. Hannah *could* be really special, whereas sadly Katy is unlikely to progress too much more. So a Hannah win would be my preference
