First set to Fran 7-6(3)
Four breaks all - this could go either way if the pattern remains

Impressive by Fran but Parriaz is hitting some straightforward rallie balls long. If she adjusts I can see her taking it still.

I just heard the commentator say Fran was out for 21 months..what happened??

Now 3-0* in the second....for a girl who's been out 21 months against the WR 80 this ain't a bad showing!!

Fantastic result from Fran to knock out the world number 80.

Let's all hope she's back to good health and can get back up where she belongs. What an inspiration she is.

Her groundshots were excellent, Her serve has improved, but she went too big too often on second serves
The Spanish girl made far too many unforced errors.

Holy moly. Wow!

The second serve ace for the first match point, the ridiculous drop shot slice angle winners.

Great stuff!

Amazing!

Just watching it back now.

Huge ranking boost and a great ranking win. Lets see if she can back it up.

Looks like shes staying in South America for 25ks in equador after this.
