The poverty of ambition is also troubling. A former top 100 player shouldn't be content with vulturing 25k events so often, she should be trying to pit herself against stronger players on a more regular basis.

You wonder what goes on inside her head. I remember that dreadful run she had a few seasons back where she endured, I think, 17 WTA first round exits on the bounce and when asked for comment made a snappy remark that tennis wasn't the only thing in her life and she had "other interests"

Well, that wasn't for the faint-hearted.....

Suffice to say, that Sonay took the lead in the third, lost the lead, was 0-3 down in the tiebreak.....but came back to win it 7-6(3)

It's great that she embraces the rally - you really need to for clay court tennis - BUT.....

Anyway, great that she's made the final
