Couldn't quite force the second break on the second set.
Served for it at 5-4
Two points away at 30-30 - goes for a really doddy smash - all a bit half-hearted - then we're into a TB - she's 4-2 up - but again, doesn't seem really to be fired up to finish it...... and here we are, in a third set :(
QF: KARTAL, Sonay (GBR) (7) 246 (CH=195 2023) v RUS, Arantxa (NED) (1) 108 (CH=61 2012)
FFS, This needs to be stopped. No.1 seed in the W40 in Croatia, also a clay tournament and not a million miles from Italy!! was Diane Parry WR107 so it's pathetic that she opted for a W25 and she keeps being allowed into these low level tournaments.

I believe that the only restrictions are that top ten players aren't allowed to play ITF tournaments. There ought to be some sort of graded restrictions going down the levels though, even if they only excluded top 50 or top 100 players it would be beneficial to the lower ranked players.

We had a discussion on a mens event recently around Jan C reaching a ranking point where he could no longer play ITF events and for men, 200 seems to be that cut off. dont know if that is the atp or itf that impose that Ranking barrier .

It is in the ITF rulebook. 200 for the men but only top 10 for the women. But the men's tournaments are only M25 and M15, whilst the wonen's go up to W100. Still a big disparity though.

i guess the women dont have the CHallenger tour equivalent, except a few 125 events - do the WTA 125 events have any sort of cut off? Clearly the ITF womens events need some sort of gradation as was said above.
