I think that the Spaniard could prove to be a tougher proposition than Vavassori.

But not as bad as Griekspoor who was beaten by the Spaniard.

Dan is the only seed remaining in the tournament.

Hes got the harder semi opponent but this event is eminently winnable for him. Famous last words of course!

The other two semi finalists are ranked 114 and 126 or something similar. RCB is ranked something like 82.

Massive opportunity

Dan and RCB are warming up. There is a significant breeze. The stadium court is more or less empty, which is disappointing.

Dan breaks to go 4-2 ahead.  This is a high standard match. I should be doing some gardening and tidying, but hey, there is always tomorrow...

First set in the bag by 6-2.

After losing the first game of the set on his own serve, Dan comes thru 6-2. RCB played a poor service game to conced the set, but I feel the scoreline flatters Dan. It seemed close, even if some of the stats suggest otherwise.

I think that Mr Evans was much happier when the forum consensus was that he was doomed.

At least he'll have a day off before playing in Monaco. If he'd made to to tomorrow's final would have been a major rush and huge pressure for him.
