Entry Week 16 - 17/04/2023

Don't understand why Sonay is in Italy on her own, has she got connections out there?

She's withdrawn from this week's event so I would think she's unlikely to hang around for week 16.  I assumed she was in Italy to get some practice on the clay in preparation for RG qualifying.  Maybe a WC for Nottingham instead?

Marni Banks looks like she will make the main draw as Kerkhove has withdrawn.
Our injured juniors have withdrawn.

And

Harriet just not playing on clay then, and picking up a cheque for a first-round q loss at the French? Probably should've gone out to Japan.

As a reminder, the 'earned' WCs for the Nottingham swing for the next 3 weeks are below. The LTA choose which week the WC is taken, but players can request their desired week.

Main draw
George Loffhagen (UKPL Wk 3 winner)
Louis Bowden (UKPL Wk 4 winner)
Men UKPL Wk 5 winner
Luca Pow(Boys 18U Junior Nationals Winner)

Danielle Daley (UKPL Wk 3 winner)
Emma Wilson (UKPL Wk 4 winner)
Hannah Klugman (Girls 16U winner)
Womens UKPL wk 5 winner
Isabelle Lacy (Girls 18U Junior Nationals winner)

Qualifying
Dan Cox (UKPL Wk 3 RU)
Brandon Murphy (UKPL Wk 4 RU)
UKPL Wk 5 RU
Luca Pow (Boys 18U Junior Nationals winner) (x2)
Oli Bonding (Boys 18U Junior Nationals RU)

Emma Wilson (UKPL Wk 3 RU)
Womens UKPL WK 5 RU
Hannah Klugman (Girls 18U Junior Nationals RU)

If Hannah wins the 18U then I don't expect her to use both WCs she would have earned. Her more immediate priority is getting direct entry to slams, due to her age she is very limited on wildcards and there is no doubt she will be given opportunities to use her full allocation without needing to earn them through the feed up policy.

Thats a real shame - was hoping he was going to make a big push to get a Wimbledon seeding.

is he injured or maybe he is focussing on practice ahead of Madrid and ROme which are big events points wise? Munich can often be cold and wet during this season - the event often is very cold and slow conditions - whereas Madrid will be at altitude and is famously speedy for clay, and Rome tends to be nice and warm. Maybe it will be better for Jack to be training and ready for Madrid than to play Munich?

But he could just be injured?

As of Thursday Sonay is still on the entry list for week 16 in Italy.

Marcus Willis?  Really?  I'd thought he'd long retired?

Been back playing doubles since last summer. Somewhere in the top 300 at the moment.
