 Hi Foobarbaz - thank you, that is very kind. Thankfully it is just fun and, hopefully, the players never see this. But if they do, they will know it is done by fans who, ultimately care about them all and wish them all well.

I enjoy doing these - which started in Lockdown and ran intensely through 2020, and have resulted in a couple of remaining polling events - the Player of the Month and Season series which have stood the test of time - and the British Wins in Grand Slams prediction polls for each slam (which seem to help folks engage in the events), and the other one remaining is the British Grass Courts Singles wins prediction polls, which will start at Surbiton and run through the summer ITF events after Wimbledon   

It seems my memory was poor and not only did we do this in 2020 but also in 2021.

As mentioned , Dan won it in 2020, turns out Andy won it in 2021 and was our defending champion and is still our champion!

People may recall in 2020, as lockdown started, I did a series of polls to vote for the boards favourite British player. Dan Evans took the title in 2020, with Andy second and Heather third.

In 2022, Andy took the title, from Dan in second and Harriet third. 

I did the same in 2023, and Andy Murray took the title this time, with Emma R second and Cam and Katie Swan sharing third place. Dan was nowhere!

I took the top 20 mens and womens singles players respectively, top 10 mens and womens doubles, filled in the gaps where duplications appeared and had a vote across 60 top British players to find the favourite.

Well, February is a quiet month in tennis and what better time to go for the 2024 version. So, around a week or twos time, the favourite British player polls will reappear and lets see who it is now!

Ill use the ranking list that comes out on 5th February to create the list of players. And post the polls after that.
