Write Cam off at your peril. Seems he's finally relaxed into his game now he's got nothing to lose, swinging more freely in those two games at least.

Cam's level is quite weak compared with previous rounds. I don't think he will turn it around, it is just not his day.

Great shame that you were proved right, Steve:

QF:  (14) Frances Tiafoe (USA) WR 16 defeated (10) Cameron Norrie WR 12 by 4 & 4

Weirdly terrible performance from Cam. I thought he had a chance at another title here. Maybe hes been playing too much tennis lately and needs a break?

In the singles:  three men (playing with non-British partners) still left in the doubles.

So it wasn't Cam's day. He made way more errors than he has in previous matches this fortnight.  His focus / desire / intensity never wavered though. This impressed me.

The post match interviewer has just told FT that this is his 14th consecutive win against lefties.

I like Frances so Im at least glad it was him who beat Norrie.

Looking forward to some good things from Cam during the clay swing once hes rested. Top 10 by the grass season for sure

Well done Tiafoe but it just felt like nothing was going to work for Cam today after yesterdays superb display. Just call it one of those days and onto Miami.

Pity.

Anyway, if Cam was supposedly so terrible was Tiafoe no great shakes today either?

Tiafoe is one of those players who can be lights out. Great to see him in last 4, nice guy as well.

Shame for Cam but still a good run and onward to Miami

Frances forehand was on but his serve wasnt really, missed multiple first serves but Cam couldnt get a touch on them. Frances good tactically, aggressive and coming to the net but I think if Cam was at his normal level he would have taken it.

Sorry I should have added I don't include the doubles, that's a form of tennis I just cannot watch.

Incidentally I tried to join in the 'Predictions' thread but I couldn't find a way in for my prediction which is that  the US Open will be relieved of ranking points for banning  Novak Djokovic from this year's tournament.
