We get a semifinal tomorrow between the current TE1 and 2 - only possible of course because of updated rankings, which moved Savva Rybkin up to 2 after he reached the TIM Essonne final. Rhys Lawlor came close to upsetting him at Les Petits As. Their semi is at 10am GMT on court 1

SF

(1) Mark Ceban v (4) Savva Rybkin (***)

Mark's long unbeaten run in 2023 comes to an end. i didn't see much of the match but Rybkin appeared to be a strong player, able to exploit slightly better movement with good angles. Mark was resilient though coming from 1-4* down and 4-5* matchpoint to force a second set tiebreak

SF

(4) Savva Rybkin (***) d. (1) Mark Ceban 6-3 7-6(3)

Rybkin went on to beat Jan Urbanski (the Polish TE3 who Mark won against to secure the Winter Cup) in the final, so cuts the gap to Mark significantly at the top of the Tennis Europe rankings. Les Petits As winner Anna Pushkareva beat TE1 Ksenia Efremova in the girls' final. The next Super Category event will be in Portugal in late April and the final one in Germany in August (both on clay)
