Lovely to see all those women playing WTA tennis

Good test but great opportunity for the girls. The fields in both events (Austin in particular) are not great. The ITFs in Trnava and Astana have significantly higher cut offs, so definitely a moment to take advantage of.

You know I'm with you - on this, at least smile

But, to be fair, Alicia gaves singles a good go.

Freya was one of my picks to be top-500-200-100 in singles at age 17 but her boyfriend's illness, her own back injury, just life, got in the way (still possible, in theory, but I'm happy for her to have got doubles going)

Ali was never going to make it in singles (just my opinion). Olivia neither. And Emily App probably not, although - like Freya - I do hope she carries on singles - both could well have a run, at some point, and suddenly be knocking on the door of Grand Slam quali rankings, say

But, overall, I'm happy they're all here, giving it a spin. I don't feel any 'what could have been' regrets.

Big congrats to Emily

And SO SO close for Freya and Ali - what a shame - hope they take the positives though

Our number one pair just don't seem to be firing on all cylinders this year...

Two match points for Freya and Ali in that MTB but a signal of where they are at.

Thrilled for Emily

Pretty disappointing from Lissey and Liv, although perhaps the long delay fixing the net beforehand didn't help.

Is this really the level of excuse we are resigning ourselves to now?

Emily was definitely the MVP on the court in the first set which I saw, really serving well and penetrating groundstrokes too.

Disappointing not to follow up the first win with that draw

Yes a pity, seemed a chance for even more this week for Emily in her doubles. But still a very nice R1 win.

Despite their close R1 loss, Ali and Freya will on Monday move up to GB #3 and #4 respectively. With Ali due to drop points on 20/03 they will switch round then. Clearly if they continue to partner only each other their rankings will in time come together.
