L16: (4) Scott Duncan & Marcus Willis CR 686 (318+368) beat Rinky Hijikata & Andrés Martín (AUS/USA) UNR (35+0) W/O
A lucky break for Scott and Marcus.
Indeed it is!
They dont get points for that though, if Im right in thinking thats the rules? They have to win the QF to get any points.
I was thinking that they did get the 16 QF points if they lost that QF.
And looking at the 2 most recent challenger examples I can find of challenger pairs that have won their R1 by w/o and then lost in the QF, these pairs have got QF points ( excluding a pair that won by w/o and then lost by w/o! )
w/b 16/01 : ATP Challenger 75 Brazil : Roca Batalla (ESP) & Stodder (GER)
w/b 02/01 : ATP Challenger 100 New Caledonia : Matthew & Mitchell Harper (AUS) - accounts for all of Matthew's current 20 points.
I'm pretty sure it's the same with ATP Tour. I don't know about the WTA.

Cheers, thats good news then. Hopefully they get the win anyway and its academic!
By the way that's Scott & Marcus's previous week 13/02 rankings. They are now WR 297 and 340 respectively.
Live 280 and 307 with QF points added from here
Scott is at a CH. Marcus looking to get within 100 places of his ridiculously low ( for his ability ) CH 209.
My post with details of the QF duly amended. I completely forgot to check their respective rankings when I put it up, as I would have done automatically, had I posted the news about their opponents' withdrawal from the first round. For the record, Hijikata is up three places to a career-high 32.
