For what it's worht, here's the 3 main ones I'd want to see a bit of:

In the boys:

Liam Channon - top LTA pick in the 14 year old lot
Joe Mazingham - top LTA pick last year in the 14 year old lot (but didn't quite get the results people were expecting?)
The other 14 year-olds wildcards (because presumably the LTA think they're good too)

In the girls:

Alice Wilson-Marsh - age 14 and someone on this forum really rates her
Isabelle Britton - age 14 and I really rate her (makes errors but wonderful natural eye for the ball)
Isabella Walker - age 14 and I've also heard some good stuff...

Pleased that young Liam Channon got a win. H
e's only 14 and that's his first singles win on the ITF circuit, amnd - as above - he's one of the LTA top picks

Joe M also won

Rhys Watters got a nice win over the 6th seed

Qualifier Toby Clarke also got his first win in singles

Indeed, in th boys - and still counting - already three qualifiers won today and seven players beat oponents better ranked than themselves

Liam Channon ran away with the first set and was 4-1 up in the second when Leo started to play. Leo won 5 on the bounce and should have won the set, but somehow Liam managed to take the tie break.
Liam is a decent player had a lot of early success with serve and volley. Struggled when he was forced behind the break line as he doesn't quite have the power of the older boys yet.
Joe M is a very tall lad with a huge serve and a solid game.
Both Liam Channon and Toby Clarke are at Reed School

In the girls Alice WM won. She is only slight and lacks power, but has a solid game. Similar story for Elizabeth Evans.
Isabelle Britton lost in a real high quality match. She reminds me of Jodie Burrage in that she has a huge forehand and hits lots of winners.
Isabelle Walker won another tight match. I didn't see much, but I've her a couple of times before and she has a nice game.

Ilias Worthington was a class above Charlie Swain and I don't see too many threatening him this week.

Connor Brady lost in a third set tie break, but got injured in the third set and has withdrawn from doubles.

Ken Skupski was there this morning and I believe both he and Neal should be down in the next couple of days

I thought your comparison of Isabelle Britton with Jodie B is an interesting one - yes, lots of power (for a slight girl, so it all comes from timing and ball contact spot) - but rather a lot of UEs - I'm sure that Isabelle is a good one for the future

Well, there were 8 foreign lads in the draw this morning

Only 2 left now - so well done, boys

not quite so efficient in the girls - 9 foreign girls has only been reduced to 5

Special shout out to Molly Robinson who beat the top seed, Mia Wainwright

Jay Johnson Hauldren (2006) scored an excellent win over second seed, Joe Mazingham (2007)

Sam Chadwick (2007) has also made the quarters, with another three seet win

Lance Nisbet (Q) (2006) came within a hair's breadth of a big upset against the French third seed, but lost a third-set TB

Conor Flynn (Q) (2006) beat Liam Channon easily

(q) Toby Clarke has also made the quarters, as has Seb Harrison

Jay played very well. Left handed who runs round his forehand . Liam made far too many errors against Conor.

In the girls, the standout performance was from Elizabeth Evans who played very well to take out the second seed. Defensively excellent and made very few UE's.
Jaqui O won very easily.
Brooke put in an excellent performance against Isabelle Walker. The game was closer than the scoreline reflected.
Poor Emma Cohen was 5-0 up in the second set and was then pegged back before feeing faint/light headed and was withdrawn as she was clearly unfit to continue.

Ilias got beaten by a qualifier today.... But well done to Jakob Bonnett, a completely new name to me

Red headed lad. Hardly put a foot wrong against Ilias.
Sam Chadwick came from a set and a breakdown to win his match.

Quite a few from Bolton , Bath and Sutton this week. Very few from Loughborough

Interesting - thanks for that - Elizabeth's name came up last year, from nowhere, when she had that good run in Africa somewhere - nothing really before, nothing after, and yet things I read about her looked interesting...

I don't really rate Jaqui O - I don't mean in terms of here - she may well do very well here - she's obviously a decent enough player - but she's 18 years old now, has played tons of tournaments, and this is a J5, for heaven's sake

Elizabeth, Brooke, Heidi etc are all 15 - it's a big difference
