Maia lost 7-6(7) 6-2.

Was up an early break, saved a bunch of set points at *4-5 and *5-6 and in the breaker. Had one herself that was easily saved at 7-6*.

A decent week still though.

Emily and Isabelle have gotten better as the event has gone on, an easy 6-2 6-2 win today.

8 of the 10 games in LJB+ first set went to deuce, and they won enough of them to take it 6-4.

A good week for Lauryn and Katarina, beating the #1, #2 and #4 seeds. Lauryn's third doubles title and first at this level - Katerina's first ever.

Oh Sonay! Did well to save the match points, absolutely had it at *6-6 but either a lapse in judgement or lack of awareness of her opponents positioning and she hit the drive volley right to her, and Sramkova just whipped it for an easy pass.

Gutted.

 R2: KARTAL, Sonay (GBR) (1) 203 lost to SRAMKOVA, Rebecca (SVK) 317 6-7(8) 6-3 6-7(6)

And  just to note that Sramkova went on to take the title, really pretty easily.

Given HOW CLOSE Sonay was to winning that match - a real whisker - it's a case of what could have been.....hmm

Yes, it was a pity, but Sonay seems to be maintaining her general level.
