Not a fan of these who know Wild Cards. Thats the 3rd or 4th time in Dubai that's happened, nearly as bad as the Leo Borg and Tsitsipas jnr ones.
Having said that would be nice to see a breakthrough result or two at a higher level doubtful though it is.
I wonder who her mate in Dubai is!
I don't begrudge her a break, just hope she makes the most of it.
I am sure this was discussed in a previous year and someone said her Dad has business interests out there - I could be wrong and have made that up of course!

She's part of the academy that holds the tournament. She regularly does training blocks there.
Looks like Liam has made it into Doha Qualifying. Along with his WC into doubles with Zverev. For a 250 Doha has some of the best prize money at that level I believe, so a good earner.

With Zverev, really? Hadnt seen that. Big opportunities for him. He goes onto Pune in India and then Lugano in Swtizerland before, presumably, IW and Miami qualies?
He is in fact well into Doha qualies, almost seeded - and doesnt seem to be in IW qualies, maybe Miami with his improved ranking?

Liam did an interview with TennisTalk the other day saying hes avoiding the US swing. After Doha hes playing in India then Switzerland for 2 weeks before switching to clay. So all challengers bar this wee chance. Seems a more sensible option to get his ranking back up. He drops more points next month so to maintain under 150 this is best. Means he can push on and the aim is to be top 100 by US Open time.
