Im still interested to hear from an Eliz voter- and promise not to be judgmental. 5 people voted for her, so suggests there was a strong logic behind it and its great to hear why and what others are thinking as we are all cast differently - which is great! - so please dont be shy!

I know Eliz reasonably well as she plays for my club. She is a really nice young lady who works tremendously hard and whose singles and doubles have both improved hugely in the last twelve months. I acknowledge that her results were not in reality the best of all the candidates but they were certainly the ones which gave me the most pleasure. Hence Eliz was my 'player of the month'!

Good stuff and that makes sense ! Personal pleasure probably drives a lot of us, many of the Andy votes are probably an emotional reaction to his effort and commitment - in reality he made the third round and one could argue does that stack up as Pom ?
Andy's PoM vote does stack up in my mind because emotional reaction with consideration of other matters besides ultimate results, such as a metal hip and the way his matches went, forms part of my PoM thinking. I would guess similar for most people
Each of course to their own but again I would certainly not just go by personal 'rules' based on results.

absolutely - I agree; I think we all bring different things to our consideration, some emotional, some fan-based (eg you follow a certain player or maybe favour a certain form of the game - womens, mens, singles, doubles, juniors, wheelchair etc), some results and it is what makes it an interesting process!
I still struggled with the Eliz votes though but I guess she has a lot of fans and that tends to add some weight in someone's considerations!
I thought about nominating Padel tennis players next month, as the LTA and ITF seem to want to take over padel tennis! I draw the line at Beach Tennis though!
