Harriet now in Doha qualifying, but to be honest, I'd rather she was scheduled to play the 60K. Rybakina, Azarenka, Krejickova, Pliskova - all in the qualifying draw...
I don't think any of these players will actually find themselves in qualifying when it comes down to it. It won't be Rybakina who has pulled out of the tournament. How did a finalist (Rybakina ) in the last 2 of the last 3 Grand Slams find their way into potential qualifying? Something seriously wrong with womens tennis rankings.
Just 19 on the direct entry list (accordng to Darts). Azerenka is now first alternate with an entry ranking of 24, with Rybakina next at a ranking of 25. Of coure they both have higher rankings now.

Surely Azarenka, Rybakina and Pliskova will all qualify for top 20 wild cards if they don't get in automatically?

Well, two of them might, one will be unlucky. But there are a couple of ordinary WC's and a SE place as well, so that should take care of it.

Re Rybakina, being in the initial qualifying list, it was an extremely strong strong field plus neither Wimbledon or the Aus Open actually contributed to her entry ranking of 25.
Clearly there were no points from Wimbledon and the Doha entry list was based on the 16/01 rankings, ie. the rankings at the start of the Aus Open.
She is now WR 10 with her Aus Open RU counted. And would clearly be a fair bit higher still if Wimbledon counted. It's not a WTA rankings issue, it's the particular Wimbledon and entry list timing issues.

Yes. Now maybe the WTA should have given points for Wimbly 2022, maybe not.
Maybe Wimbly should have banned Russian/Belorussian players, maybe not.
But I don't think we can say there's a major problem with the points system, GO, just because of a (let's hope) pretty exceptional one-off points issue last year
Pliskova is top seed in qualifying. Harriet could play her in the 2nd round of qualifying .

Sakkari and Azerenka have MD wild cards and there is a SE as well. Which leaves Jodie as first alternate for qualifying (addording to Darts) - but I bet she'll be at Murrayfield cheering on Ben tomorrow

Jodie said she'd be out for 6 weeks after returning from Australia so I don't expect her to be back until w/c 27th Feb - probably in Austin with the other British girls.

I see she's back in training now, but yes it will be a bit longer before she can play.

It looks as though Jodie didn't sign in. Had she done so, she would have been in qualifying as there are 5 others directly in with an entry ranking lower than hers. But if she is not ready to play the question is why she did not remove herself from the list earlier.
