The womens fields in the other two Middle East events in Doha and Dubai basically contain all of the top 20 players, they are like mini masters series events. Emma isnt entered but would be nowhere near getting in if she was, but she has high commercial value down there so you never know re a wild card. Good location to train as well as we all know.
Personally I think she is still best aiming at lower level events with weaker fields and trying to build some wins , so hope she doesnt turn up in the Gulf.

I'm not really surprised by Emma's lack of entries. I'd got the impression that she wanted quite a bit more practice court time after her injury interruption to build on her fitness block. And that should help clear any remaining niggles concerns too. So probably just the Aussie Open for now.
She clearly will want a run of tournaments and matches fairly soon but she and her team should not feel under any outside pressure to go for it earlier than they would prefer.
