Only one seeded pair in the last 4 pairs left and that is the 8th seeds - Granollers and Zeballos.

As well as Kubler and Hijikata , we have French Chardy and Martin and also the monagasque Nys and Zielinski, from Poland.

After K and K last year, all seems more low key and none of the pairs whet the appetite, but I guess the Aussies have a domestic pair to cheer along again.

Watched some of this.  Woeful really. Ricky was  play8ing lights out, but  I thought Koolhof  seemed a bit 'below par', though maybe because they were losing seriously by the time I joined.   He just didn't seem alert  really.

Yay, Wimbledon is reducing men's doubles from best of 5 sets to best of 3 from this year. Not before time

www.bbc.com/sport/tennis/64401075.amp

As recently discussed elsewhere I am very much in favour of Slam men's singles being best of 5 sets but certainly not men's doubles.

It was so out of step and unnecessary. And if it entices some leading singles players to give Wimbledon doubles a go all the better

Have to say I agree ! Id keep the final best of 5 though but not sure from this that they will be doing that

Well they won again today and play Kubler and Hijikata in the final. Hijikata is only 21, must be one of the youngest slam finalists in some time.

Well, I thought you were talking about the Ukrainian president when I read this first, and did a bit of a double-take biggrin

(I've no idea about doubles..... it's feeble... my knowledge about doubles, that is, not dubs itself - not trying to open up that can of worms)

But you obviously know what you're talking about - good call so far smile

Amazing for Kubler/Hijikata and the whole tournament a real wake up call for the top doubles pairs; it does rather prove Evo's point about the doubles tour generally. Feel for Lloyd/Harri though who were trouncing the finalists before Harri's injury.

I think slot of the "top teams" have been together a bit too long and going through the motions.

interestingly, also, there wasnt much change in the top pairs this season, unlike other seasons. Not sure if things maybe a little stale at the top, it is good to see some churn, for sure. Just hope it isnt the Brits that churn as they have been too solid pairs, NS/WK and JS/RR.

I think WK and NS should stay together, actually feel JS and RR should at least be looking about for potential other options, Mektic/Pavic look spent as well.

Im afraid it didnt quite work out for you RainDelay. The Aussie pair won and makes it two straight aussie wins here. Kubler makes it 3 Ks with slam titles and Hijikata is a very refreshing face to the winners circle
