I've no idea but possible that Hannah Read or Erin Pearce have a quali wildcard, as they've withdrawn from their doubles in Glasgow (or, of course, one may be injured)
I've just seen the draw for Sunderland qualifying and Fran and Katy Dunne are drawn to play each other in the first round. What a blow for both of them. I can't believe that neither has a main draw wild card as both would have been my picks!
I know we dont normally do doubles in these threads but I notice in Ottignes that Liam Broady is down to play with Dustin Brown.
What a great combination I might try to watch that.
Let's face it, Dustin is very easy on the eye

Looks like Liam pulled out of the doubles. Dustin now partnering Yannick Hanfmann. Might have pulled out when he got into the singles draw. Might have entered doubles just to try and guarantee a hotel room on the tournament.
I notice that Hannah isn't in the draw for Les Petits As which is a bit disappointing. Anyone know why?
She's played it twice, done extremely well (made the final even though a year young)
There's really no tennis interest in playing it again, it would just be a notch on a stick if she won it (or a failure if she didn't)
I assume her schedule (for tennis and school) is very much based round turning 14 in Feb
Personally, I'm really pleased she's not playing - she's got a lot bigger things to focus on
Thanks CD that's an interesting perspective. I thought I had read that this was a tournament she wanted to win, but yes hopefully she has her eyes set on higher objectives now,

I think if asked a year ago she would have said shed be back. However I think considering where things are at with her tennis it would be a travel week not used well considering Id imagine we will see her play an Adult ITF in the coming months. I notice she is down for a J200 in Germany early next month.
Yes, as you say, I'm sure when she lost the final last year she was intending to come back, it's just that competitive nature of all tennis players, 'I'll get it next time'
But I think she (and her team) decided that the Orange Bowl was her last U14 event - she stated so after the final in Florida, saying that she done in U14 events
And I think she's right - she's doing so well in proper junior ITFs and is, no doubt, going to get some wildcards into adults events, much as Stusek has done
Remind me, what difference does turning 14 make to the number of adult tournaments you can play?
You cant play any adult ITF tournaments before 14. At 14 you can play up to 8 tournaments I think, think it isnt that straight forward. In terms of juniors you can go from 10 a year to 14 a year when you turn 14.
