Gb lost to Türkiye today and thus will go out of the Quads Team World Cup qualifier.

So it will be mens, womens and juniors only in the finals later this year

This week , Gordon Reid is in action in the series 1 level Korea Open, seeded 4 in singles and 1 in doubles.

Next week is the Super Series Japan Open. It is the third of five Super Series events planned in 2023, after the Melbourne Classic in January and the Cajun Classic a month or so back. In the summer, we have the Riviera Open on the Cote DAzur (nestled between the French Open and Wimbledon ) and then early August we have the British Wheelchair Open rounding off the Super Series events.

Alongside the 4 slams, the World Team Cup in three weeks time (Portugal) and the NEC Masters (tour finals at end of year but with dates and venue tbd), these 5 Super Series events are the Crown Jewels of the Wheelchair game.

In Seoul, Gordon into the semis of singles, where he plays top seeded Joachim Gerard , and doubles, where he partners Gerard.

Good challenge for Gordon and a big statement if he can win.

Teams not announced yet, but if we can get Alfie, Gordon and Ben Bartram all playing in World Team Cup in May, wed have a team with a really decent shot of the title.

Sadly, Gordon lost his Seoul semifinal in singles and lost the doubles final as well.

All players move on to the big Super Series Japan Open now

The Japan Open Super Series event draws are out and the only Brit entered is in fact Gordon Reid, Alfie and others giving this one a miss.

Presumably Alfie prepping for the clay and the upcoming World Team Cup.

Gordon is seeded 6 in the singles and plays a Thai player in his opener, in a 32 draw event

www.itftennis.com/en/tournament/japan-open-2023/jpn/2023/wc-itfss-jpn-01a-2023/draws-and-results/

Doubles draw not out, presumably Gordon will be in that though.

Gordon won his opening singles in Japan; big upset at bottom of the draw as second seeded, Joachim Gerard (also Gordons doubles partner) lost to WC Stephane Houdet, aged 52! Houdet is a former world number one from back in 2012, hasnt played since around 12 months ago and fallen to below 100 in the rankings. He came back a couple of weeks ago, in Korea, and ran Gerard close in one of the events there, but now has come and won a massive comeback win.

Doesnt immediately impact Gordon, as they are in separate halves of the draw, but quite the result. Hard to equate to able bodied tennis but maybe a bit like Tsonga coming back and beating Medvedev or Tsitsipas in Madrid next week

Gordon Reid won his second round singles and opening doubles matches today and so is now into the QF stage of both events.

In singles, he plays 3rd seeded Dutch player, Spaargaren. Gordon is 6th seed, so this will be a challenge.
