2023 ITF Wheelchair Tour

Gordon pushed Gerard all the way and lost in a third set tie break 7-5.

Lucy in action currently, Alfie later.

Andy through to quad semis already.

Doubles action continues today also

Lucy has also lost, in straight sets, though, for her.

Alfie has started badly and is 3-0 down, but plenty of time.

Vying to be the only singles semifinalist alongside Andy L in the quad event.

Looks like rain has interfered with Alfie's charge?!

I had a quick look at the 7 Slams or Super Series events this year to see who had performed well. Alfie is second best in mens singles, as per rankings, but Gordon is probably 4th or 5th in mens singles, higher than his ranking and so losing today was a shame. Lucy and Andy nowhere in womens and quad!

Interestingly, only 8 women and 8 quad players have made the last 4 of those 7 events played, 11 mens singles players have made the mens last 4's over the year. So a very tight bunch of top players vie for the titles i each big event. Each category has a clear top 2 or 3 though (Oda and ALfie in mens, Fernandez easily third best) but below them , 4th to 8th is a tight secondary bunch. Gordon is in that second bunch, but Lucy and Andy L really dont feature yet at all, which is why Andy's form this week is great to see.

Andy went down 1 and 1 in his Quad semis with Neils Vink, WR 1. Still, a good week for Andy and doubles still to come.

Alfie in mens singles action later and also Alfie/Gordon and Ben Bartram and Dermot Bailey in mens doubles action.

Alfie and Gordon won their mens doubles QF.

Looks like Dermot and Ben are going down heavily though, 6-0 3-0 at the moment. Step up in class...

Andy and Donald lost in two tight sets in the quad doubles semis.

So that leaves us with:

Alfie into mens singles semis - playing tomorrow

Alfie and Gordon in mens doubles - playing QF as I type and semis to come later today

Lucy in womens doubles (with Dana Mathewson) - into the final which will be played tomorrow.

Big day today, Alfie goes in singles semis versus de la Puente, then Lucy in doubles final and Alfie and Gordon in their doubles final. Any singles final for Alfie would be tomorrow .

Good luck to all of them
