Alfie is in good form this week and wins his semifinal at a canter over Fernandez, a player he has had some battles with in the past. His opponent will be second seed, Tokito Oda, also world number 2 and, I think, whoever wins will take (keep) the WR 1 spot for Wimbledon.
Alfie has 3 previous FO titles, lets keep our fingers crossed for a 4th!!
Doubles follow this afternoon and tomorrow, I think the finals will be Saturday although that isnt clear!
The womens and quads are publicised as 8 player fields but both lists are short at 7 and 5 respectively, currently. Not sure if these fields will be completed or they will end up with reduced fields, which would be a shame. Presumably we can find some Brits to fill out the draw?
Alfie and Gordon , as expected, won their doubles semis in the mens, they now play the final again tomorrow
But the excellent news is that Andy Lapthorne and his South African partner, Donald Ramphadi, upset the top seeded pair of Schroder and Vink, winning a 10-6 MTB. That is a big upset in this level of play, upsets dont often happen to be honest.
So we have 3 finals with Brits in !!
Mens singles - Alfie Hewitt (1) versus Tokito Oda (JAP) (2) - World number one on the line
Mens doubles - Alfie Hewett and Gordon Reid (1) versus Martin de la Puente (ESP) and Gustavo Fernandez (ARG) (2)
Quad doubles - Andy Lapthorne and Donald Ramphadi (RSA) (unseeded) versus Heath Davidson (AUS) and Robert Shaw (CAN) (2)
And the great news is that Alfie is playing on Court Phillippe Chatrier tomorrow, opening the action. What an honour and a big move for wheelchair tennis.
Go Alfie and lets hope Wimbledon follows suit and we see centre Court play for the wheelchair event!

Both Alfies singles final and Andys doubles start at 10 am our time. Alfie won the Australian Open in January and US Open in September, so gunning for a third consecutive slam title. Hes won the French 3 times before. Oda is looking to be the youngest ever slam winner.
