I suspect we are at a quiet time with play ramping down - if you visit the board and see this, please be aware, there is going to be a week or ten days of voting now to help us decide our player of the season - please support it and vote if you can, it helps the board cohesion and gives more validity to the selected player of the season at the end of the process!!
In order to take some of the pressure off, the votes for each of the player of the season rounds and wildcards round will be 36 hour votes. Each vote will be published between 7am and 9am on the respective morning and run a day and a half to finish sometime around 9 the following evening.
This should provide enough time for everyone to vote - each vote will get two evenings and 2 whole days - and it will give me time to sort out the groups after each round.
The wildcard vote will thus be published on Wednesday morning and close Thursday night.

for all players in the PoS finals I have produced a little summary of their ranking change 2022 to 2023, their win / loss records and their titles won. I have used the ITF records as of today, so they are at least consistent in approach (ITF covers all levels of the game in theory) but may not necessarily be totally accurate.
If, when I post them, someone sees an error in the ITF numbers, feel free to comment, but better still, feel free to add some colour - I am only quoting the stats, but not any additional narrative as it is not for me to interpret someones season in a biased fashion and influence others opinions!
Sounds great JonH. Just to point out for the benefit of others that the stats on the ITF pages, especially rankings, are often not updated for a day or two after the ATP and WTA rankings, so minor differences may occur and can be ignored.

Thanks TA - good info and it will be relatively quick for me to check before the votes start - not many of the players in the vote played last week tbf , so relatively few would need to be checked!
So, congrats to Joe Salisbury on winning November Player of the Month! Joe won our first ever PoM in Jan 2020, but that was without a vote (I crowned him effectively), so this is his first with a vote!!

12 gone and leaves 50 still fighting!!
3 more fall away today , leaving 47; 25 already in player of the season and 22 in the wildcard vote: adios to
We averaged around 39.5 votes per Pom final this season, representing an 8% plus increase on last year. So not too bad overall and the last two months achieved 40 plus.
It's my personal ambition to get 50 in a vote one day. 46 was the best we have achieved in last seasons player of the season final and it would be great to see that 8 % plus achieved in the final as that would take us to 50 votes approx!

So we have 25 players into the player of the season vote now. No pairs or teams this year; 13 women/girls and 12 men/boys. Very evenly spread.
I think its going to be impossible to tell where the vote goes or who the favourite is.
Ive drawn 4 groups already and spread the men and women, seniors and juniors, doubles and wheelchair players evenly across them. Im quite proud of how they look, quite even I believe.
The 3 wildcards will be added when we get those results and I will spread them to keep the groups even.
The first round of voting will go up Friday morning and run to Saturday night. If there are ties for places in player of the season, I will use a rapid tie breaker to break the tie. So keep close to the votes. In each group 3 of the 7 will progress to the semis and only 3.
The semis will run Sunday morning until Monday night and be 2 groups of 6. Again, there will be a rapid tie break vote if needed and just 2 of the 6 in each semi will proceed to the final.
The final 4 will be posted Tuesday morning, 12th December and run until Wednesday night. If there is a tie for top spot, I will run a tie breaker also as there can only be 1 player of the season. Player of the month has had ties for top spot 2 times in over 40 votes, so it can happen! If the final has a need for a tie breaker, it will be a longer one and details will be posted at the time, if needed.
The player of the season groups are also seeded, of a sort. The players of the month have been spread across the groups to keep it even and the same for Pom runners up.
It really is a work of art! Look out for the groups Friday morning !
Some of you may be wondering what happens to December 2023 tennis results and how do we recognise them in our player of the month processes?!
Well, December is a quiet month, relatively, but the tennis carries on and players who do well need to be recognised. Around this part of the forum, though, we recognise December 2023 as part of 2024!!
So, at the end of January, we will have a vote for PoM covering performances in Dec 23 and Jan 24.
But, how do we recognise a player from December 23, I hear you ask? Just be patient, I reply!! I don't to confuse things with multiple processes and this is the first week of December, so no hurry. Once the Player of the Season vote is done, next week, we will get back to normal service and Dec 23 will have a joint nominations thread with Jan 24. It will come around the end of next week, so remember who does will this week and next, and you can nominate away from about a week or ten days time!!
