I noticed Phoenix Weir and Ciara Moore still lead the British Tour "rankings" for this season, be interesting to see if they can be toppled by anyone - presumably no one this week and really no big events to come?

CD - do you know anything about Teodora Prisadnikova ? All I know is she is British and 15 years old, and her junior ranking is showing as 3502 !

Sorry, no. Maybe someone else can help?

I recognised her name just because she only got her first points pretty recently and, obviously, it's a pretty long, distinctive sort of name and I remember typing it in the junior rankings list (for some reason, I've always liked the name Teodora too )

And if I look her up I see she did a go-fund-me sort of thing which was a failure.

But that's pretty small fry ...... sorry.....

Teddy is from Newcastle, she's been based at the Northumberland Academy. There are a series of short clips from her training camp in Portugal earlier this year (posts around beginning of June) on https://en-gb.facebook.com/caldeiratennis/ (well actually it's mostly the coach talking. Lol.)

Thanks both. I was a little surprised to see her as top seed as I haven't heard of her.

Amelie beat her in the final is three sets

And maybe not Alexis' finest hour but I can't help smiling - crafty 'froggy' Nico - age 37 (!) - with his left hand/right hand 'now you see it, now you don't' tennis has beaten Alexis and takes the title: 7-5 6-3

Congrats to:

Men's Winner: Alex Parker

(The top two seeds, Aleksandar Andic and Ying Hou, lost early on)

Women's Winner: Ellie Blackford

Ellie beat Francesca Simpson in the final. Allegra Korpanec Davies was the top seed and lost in the semis.

Well done to Hamish, not only for winning but for supporting his hometown event - that gets kudos in my eyes.

And to Ellie Blackford (although a shout out to young Sophie Bekker too, who only lost to Ellie 11-9 in a MTB in the QFs)

Glasgow G2

(1) Hamish Stewart def. (4) Robert Leck 6-2 6-2

(1) Ellie Blackford def. (6) Amelie Brooks 6-4 6-2

Ellie's 2nd consecutive weeks win has moved her up from 19th on the leaderboard 2 weeks ago to, I make it, 5th and on the cusp of being invited to the Masters.

In anticipation of JonH's next question , the "invites" to the Masters will go to
Last year's winners (Harry Wendelken & Millie Rajecki)
British winners of Premier Tier (Phoenix Weir, Ciara Moore, Giles Hussey, Danielle Hack and Marcus Walters) [only 2 women as Michelle Dzjachangirova won the other Premier Tier and she plays under the Azerbaijan flag having recently switched from Netherlands]
Top 3 on the leaderboard (currently Phoenix Weir, Oscar Wai, Patrick Foley, Ciara Moore, Kate Mansfield, Chesca Simpson)
1 WC
Any places not taken/required go to the next on the leaderboard (with this week's pts added I think those would be Mason Dace, Stefan Cooper, Teddy Prisadnikova, Ellie Blackford)

But with 3,000 ranking points for a G2 win and 4,000 pts for a G1 win its all to play for over the next month.

I think that is Amelie's second BT win - she's been progressing nicely this year.
