What happened to Amadeus ? He must be really gutted right now, getting such a good draw and a seeding for the first time, this was a great opportunity to reach the quarters and earn two points. His opponent is a 17 year old unranked wildcard who prior to this tournament had only played 2 senior events in which he'd lost in qualifying both times.
Congrats to Ross Connolly who's earnt his first ranking point since last September, taking advantage of a good draw against an unranked wildcard. Ross is likely to face 7th seed Rolando Vargas [wr:963] in rd2 on Wed.
Amadeus is also in doubles, looking to get some more dosh to pay expenses for this week. He and American Michael Johnson are 3rd seeds and play Americans Jeffrey Das and Mason Fuller today in rd1.
