November 2022 Player of the Month Vote

Difficult one this month.

Several players had great weeks, but it's about the whole month really.
Lloyd for a great month as noted in the summary.
Neal reaching WR1.
Joe for winning the Tour finals.
The BJK Cup team for a performance greater than we all expected.

But Julian and Henry for a an outstanding month have to get my vote.

Tough choice but in the end Julian and Henry for me. Their doubles partnership together this year has been so good. Clearly they get along well together and have put in the hard work and much more to claim all those doubles titles this season. Far too often doubles does not get the praise it often deserves. Fantastic year for these two and now top 100 players. Can't wait to see them take on the main tour. They totally deserve this months award.

For someone who unapologetically looks initially to singles players, while particularly noting Blu and Anelia's late doubles, I can see that this is a month to look elsewhere.

Great month for Julian & Henry with another 3 titles notched up but such is their progress, nothing actually particularly memorable. But guys you're in my mind for PoS. And Joe of course noted too for 'just' winning the ATP Finals.

But for me the memorable time of this month, what made the greatest mark was the BJK Cup team, and of course one week can, if good enough, be enough for PoM. November for me was about the BJK Cup girls and they get my vote.

27 votes. 7 players now with votes. Still quite open and I hope we have quite a few votes left to come.

Will do a summary at around the midpoint mark this evening.

I chose Amelia as her success was so unexpected for me. I knew her name but had no expectations, especially in the singles

So, 32 votes placed after 24 hours - can I hold out hope we reach the 40 barrier this time; experience tells me not, but you never know with a day left.

I thought this time I would give the scores on the doors, so here we go:

Julian / Henry - 11 votes (already in PoS of course)

BJK Cup Team - 7 votes (would qualify for PoS vote if they hold this place)

Amelia - 6 votes (would need to move up to 2nd to qualify for PoS vote)

Eliz and Neal - both 3 votes (if Eliz holds 4th she will qualify for PoS vote as she will have had two 3rd or 4th place finishes and join Dan Evans and Katie B on qualifying through that route; Neal is already in)

Lloyd and Joe - 1 vote each

All the others have no votes thus far

Vote carries on til 8.45 pm Tuesday

Ha, the Mum joke doesn't work so good when a player is getting quite a few other votes.

Edit : ah, got you, I've now read the W15 Dominican Republic thread

a 35th vote comes in, for Toby Samuel.

the average number of votes each month has been 35.6, so one more and we beat that, 5 more for 40 and 6 more and we equal the January record (although in Jan I think one or two came after the deadline for the vote closing, maybe I shouldnt count that!!). Either way, 6 more votes today for the record!!

And it is very close for 2-5th spots which WILL significantly impact the Player of the Season field. I will unravel that after votes have closed today and I have got home from a long drive where I am working today!
