TCU's match has still not started. Ohio State and Columbus are still playing with it poised at 3-3 and the deciding match has gone to a 3rd set. Beyond that I don't know what's happening as this rubbish live scoring software has failed again. :frustration
Ohio State went through after taking the deciding 3rd set 6-1
Jack, Jake and Lui all won their singles in straight sets for TCU.
Texas defeated Tennessee 4-2. Spizzirri won the clinch point for Texas defeating JoMo 4-6 7-5 6-3. I would think that would take Spizzirri back to #1 in the rankings as things stand. For JoMo to keep the #1 ranking at the season end update, he would probably need to win a rematch against Spizzirri in the individuals final next week.
The defending champions, Virginia, without their No 1 have an uphill struggle to stay in as Wake Forest take the doubles and 5 of the 6 1st sets in singles. With Virginia missing their No 1 all the team have moved up a spot in singles and James Hopper has being brought in at 6. He was in the first set to *3-3 and then lost serve twice to lose the set 3-6. Luca won his 1st set on court 5 6-3 against Virginia's usual No 6, but is down a break in the 2nd set.
Virginia fight back. After dropping the 1st set on courts 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6, they take it to a 3rd set on courts 1, .2 and 5. Luca went down an early break but retrieved it late in the set. But at 5-6 40-15* he lost the next 7 points to drop the 2nd set. On court 6 James was up a double break at *4-1 but gave them back to lose the 2nd set on a 8-6 tie-break. The one 1st set Virginia did win, on court 3, they lost the 2nd and so it's gone to a third set on courts 1, 2, 3 and 5 with Wake winning on courts 4 and 6. Wake need 1 of the 3rd set matches, Virginia need all 4.
So the semis are set (1) Ohio State v (4) TCU (6) Wake Forest v (2) Texas.
Matches will be at 5pm and 7.30pm on Saturday.
It's up to our boys to contribute to stopping the expected Ohio State Texas final.
Ohio State got a bit of a scare in this round, which is probably not great news for TCU as Ohio State will be looking not to be in the same position Columbia put them in today. TCU haven't really had any trouble getting through the rounds so far. It'll be interesting to see where they are at against the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Did the moment get to JoMo or did Spizzirri raise his game?
From Collette Lewis: But the real turning point in the match came when Johannes Monday was unable to put away Eliot Spizzirri at line 1 after serving for the match at 6-4, 5-2, and the again at 5-4. Up 5-4, 40-30, Monday had two match points, but Spizzirri cranked a forehand winner on the first and got a double fault from Monday on the second and went on to close out the second set with his fifth straight game.

hope they get to meet in the singles final in a couple of weeks time
The women's quarter-finals are underway and it isn't good news for British hopes as Georgia knock out 2nd seeds Stanford 4-1. Angelica's doubles was left unfinished at 5-3 when Georgia clinched the doubles point. Angelica lost her singles match 2-6 5-7.
British interest in the women's team event now rest with Esther and Tennessee who are the last to play today.
Pepperdine don't miss Jasmine as they defeat Michigan 4-1.
So that's the top 4 women's seeds out. The 2nd and 3rd seeds defeated today and the 1st and 4th seeds didn't make it to to QFs. It really is anyones. Go Vols.
In a day of upsets all the higher seeded women's teams lost.
Texas A&M defeated 5th seeds Virginia 4-1. Although 13th seeds defeating 5th seeds may be considered an upset, TAM did defeat the 4th seeds and defending champions to get to the Elite 8, and they have Carson Branstine returning for the post season who didn't play during the regular season. Carson is playing at 2, pushing every one down the order. TAM also have the top ranked singles woman playing at 1.
Tennessee defeated UCLA 4-3, although Esther lost her singles 2-6 6-4 2-6 and her doubles 6-7(2).
The women's SFs are (6) Pepperdine v (7) Georgia (16) Tennessee v (13) Texas A&M
Matches are tonight at 10pm and 12.30am.
I'd say, for me, Texas A&M are the favourites to win this now. Can the Lady Vols pull off another upset tonight and knock them out?
