US Open: Cameron Norrie is relishing 'chaotic' Flushing Meadows ahead of first-round match - not sure theres anything new in this write up, but great to see Cam in the news and hopefully he will be on better form than in recent tournaments..

ITA write up says 90 players with college ties..

Marked as a star-studded affair both on and off the court, the 2023 US Open singles and doubles draws will be filled by 90 players who have ties to the American collegiate system

List in the link contains singles and doubles former collegians - dont have time to pick out the Brits but sure their names are familiar to most on this thread, hoping they all do really well

When parents call me or send me messages asking about scholarships I always tell them Is the scholarship for you? and when they answer no of course, then I tell them that I need to speak with the player first and see if he or she really have the desire to go ahead and do everything its needed in order to get a scholarship and then go to a foreign country and fight to maintain a spot in the roster and be successful in the court and in the classroom. 9 out of ten dont really have what it takes in my opinion, most of them think a scholarship is a gift not something you earned for your achievements and that you are going to work hard for four years to be able to keep. Please let them grow, mature and fight for what they really want, do not push them to follow your dreams or your dreams for them!

The ITF and WTA in conjunction with the ITA have announced their version of the ATP / ITA accelerator program.

The top 5 ranked college players in the year end college rankings along with the NCAA singles finalists will be given 5 main draw wild cards into 60k , 40k and 25 k events in the next 12 months ( reduced to 3 for those still in college ) .

Of course its a good first step but its nowhere near the support being given by the ATP/ ITA program, which offers up to 8 wild cards into 50k and 75k events to all of the top 20 ranked male players and all of the quarter finalists in the NCAA singles event.

The reality is that among the women , 1 of the players is in the top 100 WTA and wont need the support. Almost all of the others have WTA rankings high enough to get into any 25k event and at least into the qualifying of the 40k and 60k tournaments.

From a British perspective both Amelia Rajecki and Angelica Blake would have been included under the ATP criteria, but unfortunately not under the very limited WTA program. Hopefully they ( and others ) can get there after the upcoming college season.

From the roster looks like a possibility of Fery returning to Stanford 2023/24 - maybe summer on the tour didnt work out as planned?

The link takes you to the 22/23 roster. He's not on the 23/24 roster.

If you check the filter to 23/24 it shows Arthur as well.

Ok it was the go button that caught me out- i assumed the filter would change automatically

me toohmm Guilty of spreading false news - only checked because saw something on another site that said possibility of Arthur returning.

No I was right - definitely on the roster as a Senior 23/24. Maybe a glitch in the filter before??

It was the ITA All American Championships last week.

In a 64 draw, Jack Pinnington won a couple of rounds before unfortunately giving a walkover in R16. Oliver Tarvet having got through qualifying, won one match and lost in the R32.

In the women's, a 32 draw, disappointing losses for Millie Rajecki and Angelica Blake in R16.

There was lots of other British representation in qualifying, pre-qualifying and doubles but I'm not going through them.

Thanks Lambda - I think we had a lot of chat on that event last year but the college parents who posted lots of the info have probably moved on as their own young adults have got older and passed through college .

shame the Brits didnt do so well this season.
