Atkinson definately beat Recouderc, the tournament office told me that and they're never wrong. Never trust the BBC, they regularly get the results the wrong way round !!! They've also got Matt Smith's result the wrong way round.
Childs and Atkinson are both on form right now - Childs has beaten two higher-ranked Brits now. I'd love Iain to reach the semis and avenge the Flee but my head tells me that experience will prevail and Childs will reach the semis in straights.
Matt Smith plays 2nd seed Simon Stadler in the quarters, Stadler is ranked 70 places higher at 266 but he struggled to beat Kalaitzis in rd2 and Matt's had two great wins
He must have given me the results the wrong way round somehow !
The LTA site says that Recouderc bt Atkinson 6-3, 6-2 and Sarstrand bt Smith 6-2, 6-4.
I then checked the order of play for tomorrow which is released by the tournament itself and then sent to the LTA and it has Sarstrand v Stadler down and Childs v Recouderc down for tomorrow.
I think so, unless there's another twist in the tale so far.
I don't understand how the guy in the tournament office could have made that mistake, they normally read the results off the scorecards supplied by the umpires.
Report on Colin's rd1 loss against Childs: Colin was undone in this match by 5 or 6 very bad line calls at crucial times right at the end of the 1st set. These poor calls meant that he lost his serve in the 12th game and with it, the set. Colin was understandably furious with the line judge about this and lost his concentration. Unfortunately he wasn't able to regain his focus in the 2nd set until it was too late and Childs won the set easily. Colin isn't playing doubles in this tournament as there's no point. He'd need to win the tournament for the points to count as one of his top 12 tournaments and neither of his regular doubles partners [Jamie Murray and David Corrie] are playing here this week.
Colin's actual match quotes are unprintable - during set 1, he unleashed a verbal volley at the line judge which Wayne Rooney would have been proud of.
What a dreadful 2 weeks it's been for the Brits in these 15K futures. Auckland got thrashed by a player with a similar ranking this week, and last week he got thrashed by a guy ranked several hundred places lower. Matt Smith lost to a player ranked over 100 places lower, Alan Mackin could only scrape 4 games in total against a player ranked outside the top 450 and Colin Fleming has lost in rd1 both weeks.
Mackin is going to drop out of the top 300 as he's been defending 30 points from the GB clay-court satellite this time last year.

Info on Martin Lee's injury [thanks to Shhh for finding this out ]
"I can confirm that Martin pulled a stomach muscle two points from possible victory in a superb match with Joseph Sirianni. He was obviously disappointed, but was fairly hopeful that he will recover soon. After a couple of days it has become clear that he needs perhaps 2/3 weeks to recover fully."
