RE: Week 46 - ATP Challenger 80 - National Bank Challenger - Drummondville, QC, Canada (indoor hard)

SF:  (ALT) Arthur Féry & Giles Hussey CR 716 (430+286) "defeated" Antoine Escoffier & Alessandro Motti (FRA/ITA) CR 2124 (601+1523) by a walkover smile

The combined age of the Franco-Italian partnership (73 [30+43]) must have caught up with them!  wink

QF:  (2) Michael Mmoh (USA) WR 118 defeated Charles Broom WR 383 by 0 & 5 afte thst first set

Not quite the slaughter I expected after that first set.  Charles did at least manage to break Mmoh's service once in the second set.

Another final for Julian and Henry winning 6-3 6-3. I fancy some Brits to win the final!

Feels like the result was almost a foregone conclusion but good run by the Fery/Hussey team. Looks like Giles will have to wait a bit longer to get his Wikipedia entry...

Just the 15th and 14th doubles titles of the year for Julian and Henry, with 12 of these as a pair including 8 challenger titles.

Up to live rankings 81 and 79 respectively.

What a year for these two. Is this a record for how many doubles titles they have won.
Huge respect to them and their rise this year.

Whereabouts do they need to be to get straight into AO?

I would think they are close or already in.  The GS draws are 64 pairs with only a few WCs.  It is easier to get into Slams than into Masters events as they have smaller draws.

Of course, matters in Slams can be more complicated as singles players will often get in for doubles on their singles ranking.  But I would be surprised if they weren't already in.

Edit

Here is the entry list from the Aus open in 2022 showing combined rankings

They are 79 and 81 respectively in the live rankings , I think they play again next week? . So a CR of 160 - my memory suggests that is around the cut off but Im not sure how one finds out historical cut offs for events ? If anyone has a resource that shows cut offs, please do post a link! ( as opposed to just quoting a number !) thanks

Oh thanks Bob - how do you search historic events on darts ?

That old list suggests the last entry rank in last year was around 151? So they must be borderline or just outside now?
