Solid couple of matches and good chance for a 1st round win.

Katy back after rain delay and has bagelled her opponent in the opener.
It is all a bit too easy for Katy with her opponent making far too many errors.
It is good to see Katy back. Her groundstrokes look good, although her footwork can be improved when under pressure and her serve needs a bit more umph.

I think having been out for a long time with a rotator cuff injury her serve is going to be affected.

Thanks for the update - I wasn't aware that was the injury.

6pts is a promising start and looks capable of breaking into the top 500 quite easily, once the match fitness and confidence comes through.

Katy has been lucky with the opposition here. She is not finding it easy on the come back trail. It will take time and patience.

Anna lost to the no 2 seed 2-6 1-6. She did not get such a favourable draw.

The match was a lot closer than the result, she had several game points in a lot of the games she lost. Had it gone 3-1 then a different outcome maybe. Certainly got top 200 potential for next year, that should be the target.

Yes, I also see that Anna converted 1/5 BPs as against 5/6 so lost out 2-9 in the BPs for and against  But then winning the points that matter more is a vital part of tennis.

Katy only held serve once in the entire match, and was broken 6 times. But she did get a couple of breaks herself in the second set. SO the game is coming back, but the serve isn't there yet.
