Boys & Girls: J5 Castelbar, Ireland - hard (Week 44)

Nearly all the Irish events have a big GB turnout, not surprisingly

And we have the top seeds in both girls and boys (Georgiana Mititelu and Luca Bluett)

 

However, the boys haven't started off all that well:

R1 wins for Luca Bluett, Will Mottram and Tom Lefranc (q) 

But losses for Harry Lumb, James Hutchinson, Toby Clarke, Hector Fullone, and Charlie Ruffell

 

In the girl: 

R1 wins for Georgiana, Sophia Kovacheva, Chloe Cleaver and Brooke Black still to play

Losses for Artina Gashi and Karina Kiss

Boys R2:

Our top seed, Luca Bluett, lost :(

As did Will Mottram and Toby Lefranc

So that's it in the boys' singles.....


Girls R2:

But some good results for our younger girls with wins for:

Sophia Kovacheva (age 14), Georgiana Mititelu (age 14), Chloe Cleaver (age 15) and Brooke Black (age 14)

Another good day

Chloe Cleaver, playing in her first ITF event, has made the semi, beating Sophia K

In the semi, she'll play Georgiana

And Brooke Black is through to the semis too, and will play an Irish girl

So that's three out of four semi-finalists are British


Brooke & Georgiana have also made the dubs semis

As have Harry Lumb and William Mottram

The girls final here will be:

(1) Georgiana Mititelu (GBR) v (2) Brooke Black (GBR)

Both are age 14

Congrats to Brooke who beat Georgiana, 6-2 6-4



And to the two of them, winner of the dubs title, 6-4 7-5

Unfortunately, the boys finished as runners-up
