Just over 24 hours left now and the scores look like
9,
6,
5,
3 x 2
2,
1 x 2
All others no votes yet.
Could still move around, at this stage though the leader usually ends up taking it - but 3 votes gap isnt many and I would like to see if we can push the votes up to 40 this time around, 30 so far is excellent with an evening and a day to go!
The ones with more than 10% are the four I considered voting for before deciding. As usual, it's very difficult when we're not really comparing like with like (singles with doubles, seniors with juniors, singles with doubles, etc).

It is always difficult , and men v women as well! But to be honest, its hard enough doing it as one vote in terms of the process , let alone lots of little sub votes! It may be hard but it works, I think!
Men v women as well, yes, though I don't find that as difficult to compare across as the other things I mentioned.
Trying to solve a moderating issue that had been reported to me earlier, I noticed in passing that of the 4189 people registered on the forum, about 70% have never posted on the forum and nearly 10% more have posted only once. Still, that means 883 members have posted more than once over the years!
I wonder how similar that is to other forums out there, certainly it's no problem if people just want to read rather than post.
I also noticed that 88 members (i.e. those eligible to vote) have visited the forum today, with a few more having last visited yesterday, so you getting 30-40% of those who visit the forum while the poll is up to find this thread and vote doesn't seem like too bad a strike rate, especially when you consider that some of those visiting will only be interested in players they actually know (so if they're not on the list this month ...)
Anyway, I've posted a link on Twitter in the hope it might get you a few more voters by the deadline.

Thank you and good stats - no idea how they stack up but sound good - and another person has voted in response to something or other ! More than anything just posting in the thread often triggers another vote , based on experience - which is why i encourage comments etc.
Just curious, but why would you register if you're never going to post?
After all, the site isn't private - you can read every post and every thread without being a member.
So why go to the hassle of registering if you're just going to read?
(I read several other tennis forums but I don't want to post so I've not registered)
There's obviously something I'm missing - maybe some of those who register actually send private messages? And some may think they'll post and then don't, which is fine, but that can't be THAT many, surely.....
There are probably bots but I doubt we get that many - there aren't many names followed by a long string of numbers, for example. Some may have registered intending to post then never quite managed to do a first post (I imagine we can be intimidating at times, however unintentional that might be!), others might have realised that if you register, you can then see which threads you have already read, things like that.

Certainly that is what I used it for when I first registered before plucking up the courage to post. Thousands of posts later, the intimidation, largely, goes away

Well, apart from SC that (just kidding, SC!)
Though you surely only realise about threads you have read being highlighted once you actually have registered.
Folk won't be registering re that particular help but they very well may be registering just thinking that it will in general open the forum up more which as said if just reading it doesn't, well apart from the Introductions section which you can't see if not signed in. Or indeed originally intending to get involved.

ps have you voted !
Agree, it's good having all the categories mixed in. One thing I wonder whether might be useful, is if everyone is granted 2 votes (for different choices) would it keep the result in the balance for longer, plus there would be fewer "nil point" candidates. Not sure if the mechanics are doable though?
