That was a great performance from Soumeya and Jess to take a set off a much higher ranked pair.

I doubt Soumeya has ever played a better set of tennis in her life. Was fabulous. Jess was really excellent for a lot of the match too, some big serving.

Jodie is playing well. She has taken the first set 6-1 from her higher ranked opponent.

Eliz is also a set up against Eden 6-2 and leads 4-2 in the second

Jodie and Eliz are now live ranked at what would be CHs.

Jodie is up 3 places on her current ranking / CH to live 125 and Eliz is up a little matter of 92 places ( taking last week's Loughborough SF into account as well ) on her current ranking / CH to live 408.

That's great news. Jodie has had a tough time over the last few years with injuries and it shows what can happen if she gets decent playing time plus the confidence she got from a good summer. The LTA home tournaments certainly seem to have benefitted those of our players that entered them this year. Well done to Eliz as well who's been playing a lot of tournaments at 15k and 25k levels and the experience is clearly starting to pay off in her results and ranking.

So pleased for Jodie. Still a tendency to get a little down on herself but she channelled it well after losing the double break and missing break points for *5-2.

Katie 6-4 3-3* - my main takeaway so far is Berberovic cannot slice.

Marni served for the second set at *6-5 against the Wimbledon semi finalist.

Maria wins though by 6-3 7-6(3). Still a very good looking scoreline.
