Week 44 - ITF W100 Shrewsbury, Great Britain Hard

Yay, I think we'd all agree that 4 straight set wins in the 5 matches counts as a success   biggrin

Would have been rather nice to have been watching Court 1 today!

So is that 10 on the Main Draw then? Must be a long time since there has been that many in a 100k. Got to be a few chances for all Brit ties.

Eala struggled with her serve first set. Second set was much closer, but maia is very difficult to read as she finds unusual angles

Had a feeling Maia would win, shes very underrated by many on here like Anna. Both Scottish of course might be a factor for some reason.

I very much doubt it, Jaggy.  But great to see Maia winning like that

That's 4/5 winners today. What's got into our girls, they keep winning! That's not supposed to happen, it's most unsettling.

 The "Emma-snowball-effect" is gathering momentum.

All we need now is a non-GB withdrawal, a LL spot and Isabelle Lacy as a shoo-in

However, not griping, as people said above, what a day !

And so good that they were livestreamed

I watched/followed bits of all those matches - have a pile of things to do this evening now
But who cares - a super day !

Couldn't be the benefit of home tournaments could it?

The main draw has been very kind as well, unless you are Marni.
Lots of all GB ties and even the non GB ties look decent.

Nice that the qualifiers have the best draws :)

Tough one for Emily, the winner of the second Trnava 60k, but she should enjoy the free hit after last week.

Amazing for Marni to have the chance to play a recent Grand Slam Semi-Finalist.

Very strong draw with a former GS finalist (Vondrousova) and, in my opinion, a player capable of winning one in Muchova.

Good to see some guaranteed points there in what is bound to be a tough draw for most of our players. 6 points for our qualifiers (and 4 to Isabelle) with 13 available for a first round win.
