the high-flying 17 year-old who Holly Hutchinson was very close to taking into a third set, and really was not at all impressive (the Belgian, that is, not Holly) - allez Lily !!!!

Very nice win for Marni

Lily lost in three - maybe a bit difficult after last week to get fired up again....

Glad that Holly and Emma W got a win in doubles

And Talia goes down in 3 too.

Still, 6 through is pretty good, and I think we stand a good chance of getting a finalist through from the bottom half of the draw.

Well, looking at first sets, we're three out of three today

Marni won hers the most easily, 6-4 - and looks like she's wrapped up the second too

Playing some excelletn forehands, serving well - all good

Eliz won hers 7-5 - tons of breaks of serves, which is not surprising - but Eliz distributing the ball well, as always, and annoying her opponent. Work to do to get it won in two though

And Emily App won hers in a TB. But she deserved it. Was down at the start and fought back. Serving decently. Not making too many UEs. Battling well. But, again, a long way from being won

An excellent convincing win by Marni over the second seed

Indy and I (the old-timer supporters from Liverpool J5) can now sit back, smile and nod, knowingly

Brilliant result and some very good play

Well done, Eliz - she really squeezed that match, didn't let her opponent get any momentum, even when she broke back - a really good 'management' of a match, as well as decent play
