Battling performance so far from Isabelle to win the second set on a tiebreak after losing a close first set to a much higher ranked player.

Wish she played more doubles as she could really develop her net play.

Yep - Isabelle's opponent had LOTS of match points

She'll be well mad with herself

Well done, Issy - keep hanging in there....

And congrats to Jessica and Alisha, who won their doubles very easily

Emily takes the first set against Di Sarra, who has had an awful year, winning only 4 matches and going from a CH of 192 in March (after 15 years on tour) to her current 536.

SO SO good to see other countries' players making a complete hash of things, having a sulk, a stomp, and throwing away a perfectly winnable match

Bravo to Isabelle Lacy - she played a very good match - but if you were the Roumanian's coach, you'd be looking at the jobs vacant page

Yay, Isabelle clinched it in the three sets, breaking her opponent's serve twice and hanging on after being broken back to win.

Thanks for that - I knew nothing about Di Sarra - Emily App certainly cruised that match - it was never even close....

Emily wins 2 and 1. A very flat opponent, but still a big two weeks for her in the context of her career. Her last 25k MD wins (there have only been 2) came in August 2019.

Marcinkevica next, who has lost to Freya this year and only just snuck past Ruby Cooling and Katy D - so a possible chance to do something she's never done, and win back to back MD matches above the 15k level.

With Katy, Eden, Isabelle and Emily already through and good chances for a few of the other ladies, we are doing better than expected.
