Week 42 - ITF W60 - Glasgow, Great Britain Hard

Im going to try and get along either tomorrow or Wednesday I think. Will report back if I make it.

A fit Maia wins against Eliz in straights and I fancy Anna to beat Lily.

I can't make it during the week. The only slight possibility is Saturday if some of our players would like to still be in action then!

Thats a pity we could have finally said Hi Indy, I cant make Saturday as a different sport takes priority for me then. Friday is a possibility as well actually for me. Imagine the likes of Katie and Heather should still be around then.

Lovely to see Anna finally getting a WC. Well deserved.

Not that she would have needed a WC if she had withdrawn earlier from Bulgaria and stayed on the Glasgow entry list. She would have been high enough on the final list to have made the MD on ranking.

Heather 6-7(7) *5-4

Missed 3 set points in that game. All a bit of a mess. Led 4-1* in the first but didn't have set points in the breaker.

Settling down a bit now and her opponent looks to be running out of belief/steam *4-1 final set.

Heather is trudging around like she would rather be in Mexico.

Maia is not playing doubles, so I suspect she is not 100% and Eliz will be big favourite in the singles match.
Let's hope Katy is fully fit
Heather and Jodie playing doubles - might be an interesting pairing...

If Maia is fit enough to be playing then I definitely don't see Eliz as big favourite. But it might be a close one

Ha Ha.  I watched alot of Bencc/ Fernandes.  Not sure Heather would have enjoyed it there either.  Glad Bencic won, in the end.   I'm still somewhat prejudiced against Leyla  since her appalling behaviour when Emma cut her leg.

She was a very gracious loser though in this match.

Heather leads the charge into R2, it is now up to the remaining 13 GBR players to see if they can follow her.
