Sonay's first win since Ilkley! And she played well for it :)

I thought it was a pretty good match, not that much between the players really. Freya striking the ball with power and doing well on her serve for the most part. Katie just that bit more precise, and playing the critical points better. Freya had a few erratic patches, and Katie took advantage of those. It was a hard fought match, and a true result between the two Brits. Well done to both.

Wow, some performance by the Serbian qualifier, Lola Radivojevic, who has just beat the strong Russian, Darya Astakhova, in 3hr 23min to set up a 2nd Round match with GB's Katie Swan.

That was an impressive effort from Maia to lose the first set from *4-0 up. Had points for 5-0*, and had 40-0* at 4-1*.

Steadied the ship sort of at the start of the second 4-6 1-0*

Not playing badly by any means, but some bad decision making at important moments.

Katie and Maia win, and Sonay is a break up in the decider - although that could go either way !

Seen Valentini a few times and never been impressed with her, so no surprise Maia won. Good to see her picking up decent points.

First time I've seen the 2005-born JWR 3, Marcinko

Dipped in and out. Interesting....

Sonay, though, was always slightly in the ascendance throughout the third set, certainly in the bits I saw.

Three out of three for the GB women here today
