Week 40 - ATP Challenger 80 - Tiburon, CA, USA (hard)

L32:  Charles Broom WR 362 (CH = 359  last month) vs (5) Enzo Couacaud (FRA) WR 187 (155 in February)

L32:  Govind Nandia (USA) WR 361 (= CH) vs Paul Jubb WR 220 (CH = 196 last month)

The name of the place has always fascinated me:  tiburón means "shark" in Spanish!  wink

Charlie lost 3 and 3 but Julian and Henry won 1 and 3.

Paul has a decent draw and could do well this week if he can refind his form.

I seem to recall that the Swiss caused a bit of mayhem in the GB M25 Futures in the summer.

Jubby wins 6-2, 6-3 against the 18 year old American, Alex Michelson. Not as straightforward as it might have seemed, given his senior ranking. His JWR is 25 and he reached the final at Roehampton juniors this year. Jubb hardly got any of his early first serves in and was up against it on serve for the early games. But when he started to find his range on his groundstrokes and move his opponent around, he looked pretty comfortable.

First time he's got back to back wins in a Challenger for a while. Let's hope he can build on this win.

Excellent - and one more win should take him above Jay and also back in the top 200. His high is 196 but would need a couple more wins to reach that just now

The Canadian beat the second seed, Kozlov, by 1 & 5 in his last 16 match.
